SPECIFICITY OF MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOZAMBIQUE

The Republic of Mozambique is a country in the south-east of the African continent with a rich historical heritage and a complex socio-political organization. It is a clear and vivid example of a multinational and multicultural State. In this article, we will look at the specifics of the implementation of multicultural education in Mozambique. We will analyze the historical background, current state, existing problems and development prospects. Special attention will be paid to language policy, the preservation of cultural heritage, the principles of inclusivity and the use of critical pedagogy for the formation of multicultural competence among students. To achieve these goals, we have studied scientific literature, government documents, research results, and expert assessments. The study made it possible to identify the main trends and problem areas in the field of multicultural education. Based on the data obtained, specific recommendations were developed to improve the multicultural education system in the country in order to increase its effectiveness and adapt it to the modern challenges and needs of Mozambican society. The proposed measures are aimed at creating a more inclusive and equitable educational environment that promotes harmonious personal development and social cohesion in the multicultural context of Mozambique.
