The information environment is rapidly evolving: new social networks and programs are emerging that significantly influence human consciousness, worldview, and intellectual activity. The number of users accessing informational resources continues to grow exponentially; the spontaneity of this process leads to unpredictability and uncontrollability in how these resources affect individuals and society as a whole. Researchers believe that citizens – especially children, adolescents, and students – need targeted training in analyzing transmitted content as a foundation for safe behavior within the information environment. It has been substantiated that educators form the leading professional community capable of shaping informed information behavior among younger generations, but they themselves require special preparation for this task. Information-personal security is presented as an individual characteristic ensuring secure personal conduct in the information environment. The article provides a definition, discloses the structure and essence of this phenomenon, and outlines criteria for its formation. Components of information-personal security include cognitive, motivational-value, behavioral, reflective, regulatory, and personal elements, with separate emphasis on personal and professional domains. The study describes confirmatory research aimed at assessing the level of development of information-personal security among middle-level vocational education students who will become teachers. Its findings indicate that overall levels of information-personal security among students fall within average values. Problematic indicators included awareness and scope of knowledge about information-personal security and measures to ensure it; activity, success, independence, and initiative in actions related to maintaining information-personal security; evaluation of planning and forecasting one’s own actions. Finally, recommendations for developing information-personal security among students are formulated. The results led to the conclusion that comprehensive efforts are needed to prepare future educators in middle-level vocational education institutions to ensure the information-personal safety of their students.
Key words: information environment; information and personal security; components of information and personal security; level of information and personal security; ascertaining research
