FACTORS FOR DESIGNING A SAFE MULTICULTURAL EDUCATIONAL SPACE

The main feature of the 21st century is multiculturalism, determined by globalization and frequent migrations, the struggle against manifestations of ethnic intolerance, the rapprochement of peoples, which is happening almost in all parts of the world. A modern educational system faces an important task to teach students mutual understanding and respect, to help them adapt to a multi-ethnic society but remain unique carriers of their own culture. All this makes the creation of a multicultural educational space inevitable in order to achieve social unity. The article studies the issue of designing safe multicultural educational space through the conceptual foundations of multicultural education. The factors that determine the features of designing a safe multicultural space are revealed. Such phenomena as «space», «educational space», «multicultural education» and «safe multicultural educational space» are clarified.
