The influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the students’ motor performance has been studied. In the study the negative influence of the pandemic on the Astrakhan State University students’ motor performance is revealed. There was also made a conclusion that the biggest decrease of physical activity was observed among students who used to be the most active before the pandemic. The decline of the functional state of students-athletes during distance learning has been revealed. Transition of intramural classes in the gym into remote PE lessons and sport for a long period of time has led to the decline of the level of physical fitness and functional state, in other words of the youth’s motor performance. Practical recommendations on organizing and implementing classes for students in conditions of self-isolation and lack of physical activity are given.
