THE ESSENCE OF YOUTH CIVIC SOCIALIZATION IN THE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

The article is devoted to the theoretical and methodological analysis of the essence of youth civic socialization within the modern educational environment. The concept of «civic socialization» is defined as a multifaceted process of integrating an individual into the system of civic relations, mastering socially approved norms, values, and behavioral patterns that foster constructive societal engagement. The study substantiates the idea of the educational environment as an institutional and purposeful framework for civic socialization, positioning it as a key priority in educational practices. The role of civic socialization in shaping active citizenship, legal awareness, responsibility, and the capacity for social participation and self-organization among young people is emphasized. The article examines domestic and international models of effective youth civic socialization through socially significant projects, volunteer activities, student self-governance, and engagement in discursive and reflective practices. The influence of various socialization agents - including family, educational institutions, and civil society, - is also considered. Special emphasis is placed on fostering youth agency and creating an educational environment conductive to dialogue, critical thinking, and initiative. The study concludes by advocating for an integrative approach to civic socialization, that combines the educational resources of formal and non-formal education.
