Volunteer activity of modern youth has significantly expanded its sphere of functioning, and now volunteering in the field of hospitality is one of the significant and innovative ones. This article is devoted to the problem of developing patriotic values through volunteer activities in the field of hospitality and tourism as one of the priority directions of the state youth policy. The solution of this problem forces researchers to turn to the identification of completely new approaches in connection with the situation of the present day, which will contribute to the improvement of the effectiveness of the development of patriotic values among young people. The author, based on the analysis of scientific research, sociological surveys, regulatory and legal framework, as well as federal projects, tried to justify the process of developing the system of domestic tourism as a means of civic education and patriotic education of youth more clearly. The significance of the article also lies in the study of hospitality traditions through the prism of patriotism, which allows them to be considered as a common set of values for young people and as a common cultural code of a citizen of modern Russia. The work uses various research methods, including the analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature and the experience of volunteer practitioners. The results of the study can be useful for establishing of volunteer hospitality activities among young people in educational and public organisations.
