The problem of insufficient attention to the self-realization of students in the educational process is considered in the article. The study contrasts the limited playback of the order of actions at the usual lesson with the creative and imaginative processes inherent in professional activity. The idea of the project is to provide students with the opportunity to fulfil their creative potential within the framework of a technical discipline. The objective of the study is to create conditions for the student to become an active subject of creative activity. The paper highlights the positive impact of the opportunity to create on the motivation to learn. In the conducted experiment, students expand their functions in the educational process. The students’ project work itself is focused on the digital direction, at the same time being a simulation of entrepreneurial activity.
