ORGANIZATION OF EXTRACURRICULAR WORK IN SECONDARY SCHOOL FOR THE FORMATION OF COGNITIVE INTEREST IN LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

The article discusses the problems of the organization of extracurricular activities and its role in increasing motivation and in the formation of cognitive interest of students in learning foreign languages. In the process of learning, the culture associated with this foreign language is also assimilated. Extracurricular work allows the teacher not only to give additional knowledge about the country of the language being studied, but also to find points of contact with the native culture. It is important that any joint actions of the teacher and students correlate with the curriculum and program, correspond to the stage of training and readiness of students. In order for the opportunities to intensify the activities of students to be the most effective, various methods of extracurricular activities are provided. The optimal form of extracurricular work is the project activity of students, which allows them to work independently creatively with information based on their own interests.
