PECULIARITIES OF FORMING CIVIC IDENTITY IN SENIOR PUPILS OF VILLAGE SCHOOLS

The peculiarities of forming civic identity in senior pupils of village schools are revealed and substantiated. Pedagogical, psychological and methodical literature on the studied problem has been reviewed. Various definitions of the concept «civic identity» have been analyzed. The essence of the notion «civic identity» has been defined. The authors consider it as an identity (belonging) of an individual to society, the people, the state, awareness and evaluation by a person of his or her civic status, readiness and ability to take an active part in the life of the state. The authors describe the structure of civic identity that includes cognitive, emotional, value-based and activity-based components. The objective and subjective factors providing the formation of civic identity are named and characterized. The conclusion about the conditionality of the process of formation of civic identity of high school students in rural schools by socio-economic and political challenges, as well as the need to develop a model of the phenomenon under study.
