Social media in the modern world is the main source of information for the youth. The article studies the issues of their application to increasing students’ motivation to practicing physical activities. Nowadays many young people are users of various social networks, which are powerful motivators to practicing physical activities. They also help achieve great results in solving current tasks in leading healthy lifestyle. Social networks have a great impact on all spheres of life, and they can either motivate students to engage in sports activities or discourage them. The authors analyze the most effective motivators for students to engage in physical activities. The objective of the article is to study the impact of social media on the formation of students’ motivation to practice physical activities.
