The role of a regional culture in the development of preschool children, as well as its influence on emotional, physical and intellectual development of a child are studied. During the study the main authors, proving the importance of introducing children to the traditions, values, norms and rules of society in which they are brought up, are defined. The main objectives of introducing preschoolers to a regional culture are specified. The types of integral interaction between an older preschool child and a regional culture are revealed. The prerequisites for effective ethnocultural education of preschoolers are named. Means of introducing preschool children to the culture of a region (folk arts and crafts, folklore, modern information technology) are identified. The preschool age of a child is analysed, and it is revealed that this period is sensitive for introducing a child to a regional culture, since it is the period when the qualities, which form a person’s personality, are built.
